Speakers

Barbara Quinn
Barbara Quinn DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, FCNS

Dr. Barbara Quinn, DNP, RN, ACNS-BC, FCNS, is a board-certified adult clinical nurse specialist and Fellow of the National Association for Clinical Nurse Specialists since 2020. She brings over 30 years of nursing experience, including 16 years as a clinical nurse specialist, applying evidence-based practice and process improvement science to improve patient outcomes. Dr. Quinn recently retired from her role as Director of Professional Practice and Nursing Excellence for the Sutter Health System, where she led quality and professional practice initiatives across 24 hospitals. Her clinical foundation is in adult medical-surgical nursing, with 18 years of bedside experience. She earned her Master’s degree in 2004 and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2021 from Samuel Merritt University. An experienced educator, consultant, and researcher, Dr. Quinn focuses on nurse-sensitive outcomes, particularly the prevention of non-ventilator hospital-acquired pneumonia (NV-HAP). She has conducted original research in this area, presents regularly at national conferences, and has co-authored several peer-reviewed publications. She continues to support nursing excellence through ongoing education, research, and consultation.
