Aloha! My name is Guanlin Gao, and I am an assistant professor of economics at Chaminade University of Honolulu. I am serving as a committee member of the American Association of University Women (AAUW-Honolulu Chapter). I’m writing today to inform you a funding opportunity for members of your organization.

The AAUW Honolulu Career and Leadership Development Grant provides up to $4,000 for women residing in Hawai‘i to attend conferences, meetings, and seminars, and/or to pursue certifications that would further their careers or leadership development. Graduate students are also welcome to apply.  These grants can be used for: 

●    Costs associated with pursuing career-related designations (e.g. prep courses, exams)
●    Trade certifications and licensing
●    Attending conferences and meetings, including costs related to fees, transportation, accommodation, and per diem
●    Fees and registration for virtual conferences and other virtual professional development activities
