Nurse staffing and many other issues were challenges long before the pandemic, and now the situation for our community is even more dire. The sustained and extreme demands in our environment are causing nurses to move away from hospital settings or to leave the profession in record numbers.

Nurses have continuing concerns and frustrations, and we want to hear how the staffing shortages and other challenges are impacting you. Please join us for an online town hall to discuss the challenges you’re facing and the work we are doing with our community to support nursing and nurses. This forum is the first of a series of listening sessions that we’re planning for our community.

As we advocate for change, our goal is to hear directly how you are feeling, answer your questions and discuss what you are experiencing. We’ll also share ways AACN is working to serve the community. We know the crisis impacts your ability to provide optimal patient care and negatively affects nurses’ well-being, unit morale and the work environment. AACN continues to work with other organizations to develop strategies to address the growing staffing crisis, and being sure we understand what you need is a critical piece of this work.

If you have questions for the forum that you would like to submit in advance, please email them to info@aacn.org.
