The Queen’s Medical Center is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Wisconsin Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. This educational activity is free from the undue influence of commercial interest organizations. To earn CNE, attendees must attend 100% of the live course and complete an electronic evaluation. This conference offers 3.25 CNE credits and the post-conference workshop offers 5.5 CNE credits. Partial credit is not available.

RegistrationRegistration ends May 23, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. (HST).  The course capacity is limited.  Please register early.  Registration fee includes continental breakfast, snacks / drinks, and parking.  Post-conference workshop will also include lunch.  Registration and payment will be online.

Parking:  A parking validation is included with the cost of the registration. Parking will be available in The Queen's Medical Center (Punchbowl campus) Physicians Office Building 1 & 2 garages.

About the Conference:

Magnet defines innovation as “the application of creativity or problem solving that results in a widely adopted strategy, product, or service in a new and different way.”  Nurses have always been innovators, exploring new possibilities to improve efficiency in their work and the quality of patient care and safety.  Participants will be able to define what innovation means for nursing, recognize nurses who are already innovating, and learn an innovation framework to address issues in healthcare.

Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of the conference, attendees will:

  • Define nursing innovation 
  • Discuss the future of innovation at Queen’s 
  • Recognize and celebrate nurse-driven innovation currently happening at QHS

Upon completion of the post-conference workshop, participants will:

Registration Refund and Cancellation Policy

REFUNDS

To receive a refund for the registration fee, cancellation must be made in writing no less than 5 calendar days before the event.  Refunds will be processed less a 20% service fee if made by May 23, 2024.  No refunds will be made after that date.  To make a refund request, use this form.

CANCELLATION

This activity is subject to cancellation.  In the unlikely event that it would have to be canceled, a refund of registration fees will be made in full; however, the sponsors are not responsible for any travel-related costs you incur.

Dr. Weberg is an innovation leader and deviation amplifier. Dan has worked with large health systems, technology startups, and academia to pull healthcare into the future through innovation leadership to create tangible ways nursing leaders can address the pressing opportunities facing our profession: From provocative perspectives on the forces shaping our healthcare organizations to the leadership tactics that can help us lead into the unknown with excitement and urgency.

Jason Chang

President QHS Innovation Institute
EVP of Innovation and Strategy

Jason Chang is the President, The Queen’s Health System Innovation Institute and Executive Vice President of Innovation and Strategy, The Queen’s Health System. An accomplished healthcare executive, Mr. Chang has over 15 years of executive leadership experience in both for-profit and non-profit healthcare systems. His background includes hospital and health system management; ambulatory service and clinical program development; quality and service improvement; managing tertiary/quaternary services in a teaching hospital environment; and clinical integration and physician network development. Under Mr. Chang’s leadership as Incident Commander during the COVID-19 pandemic, QHS’ hospitals and clinics played a vital role throughout the pandemic, including providing the first vaccinations in Hawaii. Prior to joining QHS, Mr. Chang was the Chief Executive Officer of McAllen Heart Hospital at South Texas Health System, an $800 million regional health system operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services. South Texas Health System is comprised of five hospitals with 840 licensed beds, a trauma program, a transplant program, a children’s hospital, a behavioral health hospital, and a network of 120 employed physicians in 17 locations. Mr. Chang received his Bachelor of Science (Pre-Medicine) from the University of Arizona and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
